I just picked up the Samsung S25 Ultra and paired it with a new OtterBox case. I’ve been using the S21 Ultra daily for a while now, so this wasn’t just an upgrade — it was a chance to see if the jump forward actually matters.
The OtterBox Case
Let’s start with the case. I wanted something rugged, but not bulky or awkward-looking. This OtterBox fits the bill. It’s got a clean, solid design — tough enough to protect the phone but still sleek enough to look good. A friend even said, “That’s a great-looking case — and it looks sturdy too.”
One thing I wasn’t expecting: wireless charging still works in my Hyundai Palisade. I figured a rugged case like this might block the signal, but it charges just fine. You do have to place it just right, but it works — and that’s a win.
Comparing the S25 Ultra to the S21 Ultra
The biggest difference? The camera. I took three shots with both phones, side by side — same lighting, same subject, same moment. The S25 Ultra clearly pulls ahead in image sharpness and detail, especially in tricky lighting.
I put the six shots together in a quick comparison video so you can see the difference for yourself. The results speak louder than specs.
Video is below.
What About the Built-In S Pen?
The S25 Ultra has the S Pen built in, but honestly? I could take it or leave it. I already have the S Pen from my Samsung 360 laptop, and that works with the S21 Ultra just fine. For me, it’s not a selling point — but for others, I can see how the convenience would matter.
Bottom Line:
If you’re on the S21 Ultra and wondering whether the S25 is worth it, the camera upgrade might be your main reason to switch. Everything else feels like an evolution — not a revolution. But paired with a good case like this OtterBox, the S25 Ultra is off to a great start in my hands.
