Fourth of July in Orlando at the Rosen Shingle Creek.

We spent the fourth of July in Orlando at the Rosen Shingle Creek and was supposed to go to Disney Springs to see the firework display but because of a situation I decided to go to downtown Orlando for the fireworks.

Arriving at the Rosen Shingle Creek

We drove to Orlando from Tampa with my 2 grandkids and my 2 cats to the Rosen Shingle Creek, it is a pet friendly hotel, and we were excited to take our cats on our road trip. My wife got a Hyundia Palisade just to have a bigger vehicle for the cats to be comfortable. The last time we went to Orlando we rented a van and the cats enjoyed having more room to move about. As soon as we pulled up in front of the hotel a valet greeted us, and a bellman took our luggage and our cat carrier. The rules are they must take our luggage to the room we could not use the trolley.

A half hour later the luggage had not arrived at the room and my wife panicked that the cats were being stressed out. I went down to the bell stand and asked them to check on the luggage. The person behind the counter radioed another person to check on the luggage and I went to get more stuff out of the SUV. When I got back, I saw our luggage and cats at the counter and was told cats are not allowed in the hotel. A manager walked up and was told we have cats, and he stated the had to go cats are not allowed only dogs. The manager offered a full refund, but I decided to leave the rest of the family and drive the cats back to Tampa and get a sitter.

Fireworks downtown Orlando 2022

On my back to Orlando, I realized it would be a little late to go to Disney Springs to see fireworks, so I told my wife downtown Orlando has their 45th annual Fourt of July celebration at Lake Eola Park. The fireworks were to be set off at 9:15PM so we had time to drive there from the hotel and hopefully find parking. There was bumper to bumper traffic and I said we could stay in the traffic and see the fireworks, but we found a corner to park and watched the fireworks. The fireworks started late, almost 9:35, and we had a magnificent view and we got away from all the drama that was happening around Lake Eola.
